I’ve hit the five month mark in my re-trial of BetAlchemist and it’s like déjà vu! The results have been almost identical to my original trial - uncannily so, in fact!
The first time testing BetAlchemist, I ran the trial for five months and ended up just about breaking even with £15.00 profit on £10 stakes. This time? I finished with £25.10 profit - pretty close to the same result!
The main difference this time around is the BSP results, which sadly didn’t hold up as well.
In my first trial, the BSP results were actually quite strong, but this time, they’ve been a bit of a letdown.

Summary
In conclusion, after five months of re-testing, it’s clear that BetAlchemist has delivered a similar experience to my original trial, with only minor differences in results.
With that in mind, I’m sticking with my original neutral rating for this service. It has potential, but the results just haven’t been strong enough to shift it into a more positive category.
Trial Two - Update Four: 5th October 2024
Things have been going pretty smoothly over the past few months in my BetAlchemist trial, and this month I’ve added another £28.20 profit to the pot.
My profit ended up slightly lower than the advised prices, as a couple of tips priced at 40/1 were quickly cut after being posted. Overall, I finished with about half the profit that could’ve been made if the original prices were still available.

Trial Two - Update Three: 3rd September 2024
My re-trial of BetAlchemist is progressing nicely, with a solid £53.40 profit for the month. This brings my bank up by almost 10% altogether.
It may not have been as thrilling as last month’s spectacular result of over 20 pts profit in one month, but I’m pleased to see a steady profit this time around.
Consistency is key in any betting service, so I’m eager to see how it continues to perform in the coming weeks and remain optimistic about further building on this success.

Nicky seemed to hit a good run just before the end of the month, with a cluster of winners and places. I’m hopeful he can keep up the momentum and bring in some more profit for my trial.
Trial Two - Update Two: 4th August 2024
The second month of my BetAlchemist re-trial has gone much better, and I'm back on track with a significant profit banked for the month.
In total, I made £236.50 profit in month two and my return on investment was an amazing 49.27%.
So, I've not only recovered the losses from the first month but also made an additional £44.00 profit overall.

Trial Two - Update One: 5th July 2024
Well... It hasn't quite been the start that I wanted for my re-trial of BetAlchemist!
I have lost £192.50 based on using £10 per pt stakes, which equates to a 19.25% bank decrease.
There were a lot of places throughout the month, with the tipster just narrowly missing out on bigger payouts. That's the way it goes sometimes, hey?
I just hope that next month is better!

Bet Alchemist Trial Two - 2024
My trial of Bet Alchemist in 2022 didn't quite work out, as I ended up breaking even after five months. The tips had performed much better at BSP, but in the end I decided on a neutral rating.
The service ended up with a £621.41 loss for the year, making it one of their worst since their launch in 2012.
Fast-forward to 2024 and the published results have improved dramatically.
2023: +£5,428.18 profit
2024: +£3,831.37 profit so far
Nicky asked if I would be willing to give the service another go, and I thought, why not?
He has been transparent with his results and even though there have been 3 losing years out of 11, the service has reported £32,890.19 profit to £50 stakes altogether.
It's rare that I re-trial a tips service, but in this case I think it is worth a shot. I will record bets for the next three months to see how it goes.
Bet Alchemist Trial One Results - 2022
After several months of slowly building up the betting pot, most of it has been given back to the bookies in the final month of my trial of Bet Alchemist.
I extended my trial from the usual three months that I give a tips service, because I felt that the service had more to offer than what I had seen so far.
I couldn't make a clear decision, as I felt like I was either on the brink of a fantastic month or a terrible one, which would change the outlook of the whole trial.
The first four months had all finished with a profit but it was slow going and my bank had only increased by 16.65%.
Finally, my final extension to five months confirmed what I was worried about.
I lost £151.50 to £10 stakes and that was almost all of what I had built up in the past four months. I was like being back at square one now.
There is a positive though. At BSP (Betfair Starting Price), the profit had been higher than at the bookies every month.
Actually, during two of the months it was much, much higher and in the end, it totalled up to £323.45 profit.

Summary
Bet Alchemist didn't deliver at the bookie prices but it did produce a profit at Betfair SP, with a bank increase of 32.4%.
It has also been going for a very long time and the results are believable, after comparing with my own. I was able to get the same prices in most cases.
If you do decide to take a look then I would recommend betting at BSP, as you can often get much higher prices than at the bookies, especially for outsiders.
My decision is to give the service a neutral rating.
Trial One - Update Four: 10th September 2022
There was a small profit of £7.00 to add to my bank in month four of my trial of Bet Alchemist. Added to the rest of the trial profit worked out as a total of £166.50.
It is great to see that the service has not had a losing month so far in my trial, but the level of profit has been on the low side. At the moment I work it out as an average £41.63 profit per month to £10 stakes.
It feels like the tipster has had some hard luck, with quite a few bets placing and some rule 4 deductions that cut into the profit when they did get some winners.

Summary
I feel that this is one of those trials that is worth carrying on, so I will extend again for another month. There aren't too many bets each week for this service, so it's not too much work for me to continue recording results.
Trial One - Update Three: 10th August 2022
There has been a profit in each month of my Bet Alchemist trial so far and each time it has been more than the last.
It's great to see things get slightly better each month and see regular profit coming in.
My only gripe is that it is still quite a small overall profit, adding up to £159.50 in three months using £10 per pt stakes.
I'm not complaining as such, as I would prefer to see consistent profit from a service so that I would feel more comfortable using higher stakes.
I do worry that one bad month could wipe it out though!

Bet Alchemist added £50.50 profit to the pot in the second month of my trial which makes it a small 6.6% bank increase in total.
The service was flying throughout most of the month, tipping plenty of wins and places. Sadly they experienced a losing streak at the end and some of the profit was handed back to the bookies.

The service has shown some promising results in my trial so far but I need to see more profit to be able to give a pass rating. Right now it would be tough to cover membership fees, so a good chunk of profit next month would be great.

Trial One - Update One: 6th June 2022
My trial of Bet Alchemist has had a promising start with some each way winners and quite a few places.
It was only just enough to finish the month in profit though, with £15.50 made at the advised prices and a return on investment of 3.23%.
The Betfair SP results were much better due to horses often drifting in price as the day went by. This added up to £133.75 profit at Betfair and a 27.86% return on investment.

Trial One - Introduction: 9th May 2022
Bet Alchemist has been around for donkey's years, which is usually unheard of with tipping services as they often come and go.
This is the 10th year since the service went live as a betting service, so I reckon they must be doing something right!
Their results page has a full breakdown of profit/loss for each year and altogether it adds up to 636.86 pts profit, or £6,368.60 to £10 stakes with a 12.33% return on investment.
Imagine the amount of profit if stakes had been increased as the profit built up over the years. That is the beauty of finding a service that you can rely on to follow for the long-term.
Here's a breakdown of the statistics for the service to date:
The service is run by Nicky Doyle, who has had most of his bookmaker accounts restricted and now enjoys helping his members make substantial profits.
He focuses on quality over quantity, betting on group races down to class 2 handicaps on the flat and graded races to valuable handicaps over jumps.
Bets are posted online and email at approximately 9.00am on the day of the race and 11.00am on Sundays. Most of the bets are at weekends but during festivals there are daily bets.
Nicky claims that the prices of his tips don't disappear quickly like they would on mid-week lower class racing.
I will be running my trial for at least three months to be sure of this and will post a monthly update of my results at the available prices.
